Data in human rights documentation: help us address challenges you're facing!
As part of an ongoing project, we are meeting in May to compile our favorite existing resources and create new ones to support human rights advocates, researchers, and investigative journalists who are using new data sources to support their documentation work. 1. In addition to witness testimonies or your own direct reporting - what types of data do you use in your documentation work ?
eg. using information from Twitter to verify reports you receive; finding videos on YouTube to get new angles of an event, etc, identifying Whatsapp groups where people are talking about issues you care about.
2. What challenges are you having in using data?
eg. not knowing where to go to find the right discussion forum, being wary of using photos from social media in case they are false, not sure where to start with a certain type of data.  
3. What information or support do you wish existed to help you address those challenges?
eg. I'd love a step-by-step guide on how to verify citizen video.
4. What are your favorite + most useful existing resources on data-related topics?
eg. tip sheets, how-to guides, case studies, toolkits; please share links and titles to resources.
